For decades in the USA, the function of newscasters was to present the facts of current events to the public in an unbiased manner — or with only a bias toward zeal for accuracy; opinions were limited to the editorial section, and propaganda was the purview of recognized political entities.
Some of the persons on this page could easily be categorized as pundits or even political activists; their inclusion here is due to the original meaning of their job description.
